Barnardos 5K Santa Dash
Barnardos, Ireland’s leading children’s charity is inviting families and friends to embrace their inner Santa and take part in the annual Barnardos 5K Santa Dash in UCD, Dublin to help raise vital funds to keep Barnardos projects open and hopes to attract over 700 participants.
Barnardos are encouraging families and friends to get dressed up in their Santa gear and join them on the day. It is a great family day out and all for a good cause.
Mr Claus said: “It’s really important to me to be fit and healthy, especially with my busiest night of the year fast approaching. Last year’s Santa Dash at Marlay Park was fantastic with over 400 boys and girls and their mammies, daddies and friends joining in. This year, it’s set to be even bigger and I’m really hoping to take the prize for the ‘fastest Santa’ – that would be magic!”
Santa Claus has kindly lent Barnardos hundreds of his (large!) spare suits to keep you warm as you run or walk the 5K! Don’t forget to dress up your little elves to be in with a chance to win some great prizes!
It really should be a sight to behold – hundreds of Santa’s running through UCD! The day itself is a great opportunity for families, friends and colleagues to get together and have a lot of fun whilst also raising funds for the work Barnardos does with disadvantage children and their families living in Ireland.
People can register for the Barnardos 5K Santa Dash by visiting www.barnardos.ie or texting JOG to 51444. All participants will receive a fundraising pack in the post.
Prizes will be awarded to the Fastest Santa, Best Dressed Elf, Most Festive Buggy and many more. The race will start at 10.30 and refreshments will be provided.
There will be lots of free family entertainment to keep everyone entertained after the fun run!
