Questions About Belvedere House Green Santa

They are regularly asked questions about Green Santa, and below are the questions most frequently asked. If they don’t answer your particular question, please contact them.

Q: Is Green Santa recognisable as Santa, especially by young children?

A: Green Santa will be instantly recognisable to children as Father Christmas. Green Santa is based on the Santa of Victorian Times. Normal Santa accessories including rotund figure, boots, belt, beard, glasses etc will all be there.

Q: What are the ‘natural gifts’?

A: The aim of the event is to provide a great value, quality Christmas experience with a difference. The Children will get a potted Holly Tree from Green Santa to bring home with them. They will also receive a Green Santa Wild Flower Seed Shaker with instructions for planting and the customary Victorian Candy.

Q: How many children see Santa at one time?

A: This is a normal Family visit with one Family at a time entering Green Santa’s Grotto.
Q: How long will Santa spend with the Children?

A: Green Santa will spend longer with the Children than a normal Santa Visit, as there is an activity to complete with the children.

Q: What is the activity?

A: The activity involves completing the potting up of the Holly Tree with Santa.

Q: What will Santas Grotto be like?

A:  Green Santa’s Grotto will be an enchanted snow filled  Grotto with real trees, a forest theme and other surprises.

Q: What type of clothes should children wear, as they usually wear their best clothes to visit Santa?

A:  For those who want to walk the outdoor trails, dress appropriately for the weather on the day.

Q: Can Parents/Adults accompany children?

A: Yes Parents/Adults can accompany children to Green Santa and will also have access to House, Gardens and Park afterwards.

Note: 2 adults will go free with each family booking and additional adults in the group will have to pay (€8 each).

Q: What is in it for infants (up to 18 months old)?

A: We don’t charge for infants up to 18 months old, so they can join the rest of their family on their visit and they will receive (with parents’ permission) a candy cane. Because they are too small they will not receive a potted plant, but please bring along your camera so that you can get pictures taken with Green Santa.

Q: Can we cater for large groups?

A: We can cater for a limited number of large groups by appointment between 11am and 12noon before our general public visits start. You will need to contact us well in advance to book an appointment so we can tell Santa.

Q: What else is there to do at Belvedere apart from the Green Santa Visit?

A:  Belvedere House, Visitor Centre and Estate will have a truly special festive spirit with traditional decorations all around. Your visit to Belvedere House itself will have a flavour of Christmas’ past with natural decorations from the grounds of the estate.

There are 160 acres of parkland to explore and playgrounds to be enjoyed. Follow the various walking trails through the whispering trees of Belvedere’s ancient woodland and perhaps make a wish in the Magical Fairy Garden.

CaToCa Fine Foods & Giftware will also be serving several seasonal delicacies on their menu.

For outdoor activities, dress for the weather and allow enough daylight time to see everything either before your Green Santa visit or afterwards.
