National Print Museum Free Guided Tour
Join the Free Public Guided Tour of the National Print Museum’s collection every Sunday at 15.00 (excluding Bank Holiday Weekends, Demonstration Days and Family Fun Days).
During this interactive guided tour of the Museum, your tour guide accompanies you on a journey of discovery, with both technical descriptions and anecdotal tales, through the three core areas of the exhibition – the Composing Area, the Printing Area and the Finishing Area. Each visitor is offered the opportunity to hand compose and print a poster during the tour!

Group Guided Tours
The guided tour of the Museum’s permanent exhibition is available to a range of visitor groups including Secondary Schools, 3rd Level students, Adult Education students, Heritage and Historical Groups, Disability Groups and Social Clubs. The tour is flexible in level of content and duration in order to suit each group’s specific needs and abilities.
(Maximum number 20, Duration 60 minutes)
Activity Based Tours
Activity based guided tours of the Museum are available to Primary Schools, Youth Groups and Families. Using the Museum’s collection and traditional arts and crafts, the tour guides introduce children to a hands-on, interactive learning experience which allows them to discover the world of letterpress printing.

We offer two public guided tours of the Museum per day (Mon – Fri) at 11.30 and 14.30. See rates below. No booking required. Please note there is no 14.30 tour on Wednesday afternoons.

How to Get to the National Print Museum
By Car | On Foot | By Bicycle
The National Print Museum is located in the Garrison Chapel of Beggars Bush Barracks in Dublin 4. Arriving from Dublin city centre, head south from Merrion Square, over Mount Street Bridge; take the left at the junction of Northumberland Road and Haddington Road. You will see the barracks on the right. Once inside the Barracks, the Museum is located in the back right-hand corner. Parking is limited within the Barracks and drivers advised to be observant of clamping signs. There is also a bike rack available at the entrance to the museum.
Nearest Dart Station
The nearest DART stations are Lansdowne Road or Grand Canal Dock – both of which are approximately a five-minute walk from the National Print Museum.
Bus Routes
Numbers 4 or 7 to Northumberland Road and Haddington Road Junction.
Access
On the ground floor, visitors will find the Reception, Museum Shop, permanent exhibition, toilets, and Press Café. The ground floor is fully accessible. Entry for wheelchairs users is via the Café. On the mezzanine level, visitors will find the Education Area, lecture and workshop spaces, and temporary exhibitions. The mezzanine level is not accessible to wheelchair users
