Dublin Simon Fun Run
Dublin Simon Fun Run is the longest running charity event in the Phoenix Park, Dublin and this year they don’t only promise a great day out for runners of all levels, but they promise one of the best family days out of the year.
Cocky Balboa, Dublin Simon’s Fun Run chicken is calling all kids to join the fun at this years’ Dublin Simon Fun Run on Saturday 8 October in Phoenix Park. With races for under 7’s to under 12’s and entry open to all secondary schools all kids are catered for.
Dublin Simon are delighted to announce Athletics Ireland have signed up to be part of the Fun Run Team again this year and will provide an action packed “agility challenge” for all children. The fun filled challenge will include standing, long jumps, beam balance and speed bounce to encourage balance coordination, tumbling, running, and jumping.
Races include 8-12 years over an 800m course and under 7’s for a 200m dash. All children will receive goodie bags and medals in recognition of their participation. Registration on the morning is €25.
There'll be plenty of entertainment on the day, with music, performers and amusements after the events, goody bags for all the participants, spot prizes throughout the day, medals for every child and even a fantastic group-warm up beforehand.
The funds raised will be going towards promoting policies and providing services to help reduce homelessness in Ireland!
Entrance Fee And Suggested Fun Run Sponsorship
- Regular Race competitors: €20, plus suggested sponsorship €150
- 13 – 18 year olds: €25,
- 8 – 12 year olds: €25
- 7 and Under €5 (no suggested sponsorship)
- school groups can register as a group for €15.

The Dublin Simon Community works to prevent and address homelessness in Dublin. They provide services at all stages of homelessness and enable people to move to a place they can call home. Dublin Simon heavily relies on the generous donations and fundraising activities to fund their services. The help and support from the public enables them to give people who are homeless the stability to start rebuilding their lives.
