Designed to devise interesting ways of bringing ‘science to life’, the series will take place in the RDS during the months of October and November and will then take to the road, travelling to libraries, schools and universities around the country.

This year, 17 bursaries were awarded to science educators from around the country to help inspire them to find creative ways of encouraging young people to see science as exciting, challenging and fun. This year the RDS-based programme will include 20 interactive demonstrations for senior primary pupils and junior and senior post primary students. Participants will be given an opportunity to conduct their own experiments and learn how the world in which we live functions.

Each demonstration will be approximately one-hour long with two demonstrations per day. All demonstration lectures will take pace in the RDS Concert Hall.

Primary school teachers please note attendance at the RDS Science Live series can be used to contribute towards Step 4 of the Award of Science Excellence.
