Fort Lucan is an adventure land playground in County Dublin, where they aim to provide a fun day out for all the family.Generations of children have come to Fort Lucan to seek adventure and excitement. Set within a huge wooden Viking Fort, the centre provides hours of outdoor fun for children aged between 2 and 12 years.

There is an extensive range of activities for the younger members, as well as a cafe and shop for those not so keen on the physical side of the adventure centre. Kids create their own adventures as they discover secret slides, climb 40 foot towers and high walkways before zipping across the aerial runways. Escape your friends in the maze or challenge them on the army-style assault courses. You can also let your kids show off their driving skills on Fort Lucan two Go-Kart tracks.

The Raging River has two massive waterslides with awesome bends, twists and drops…. Hold on tight as you are launched into the twisting and disorientating blue tunnel or catch some air on the red watercoaster.

For the under 5’s they can climb and dig in the mini-Fort Lucan, complete with aerial runways, baby Go-Karts, sand pit and much more

All children must be supervised by a responsible adult. Fort Lucan adventure playground Dublin is only suitable for children aged 2-14 years and the only ride suitable for older children and adults is the River Raft Ride.

Family Fun Tip :-  Fort Lucan is not suitable for groups of children over the age of 14.

Facilities At Fort Lucan

Fort Lucan counts a crazy golf course, go kart track, water slides, a maze, ziplines, high tower walks, aerial runway, pendulum swings, suspension bridges, assault course, and a under 5s play area in addition to the new Raging River Raft Ride, has two massive waterslides with awesome bends and twists.

The crazy golf course has a Norman theme and has always been a favorite among the young members of the family. The water slide is guaranteed fun as you drop 40ft into the water. There are two separate go karting tracks for different age groups, one for those under the age of six and one for the older children.

Children should wear suitable clothing for an adventure centre such as long sleeves, trousers and runners. It is also a very good idea to bring a change of clothes.

There is a small restaurant in Fort Lucan. Selling chips, sausages, chicken nuggets, sandwiches and a selection of cookies and cakes. They also have a sweet shop.

Kids Parties At Fort Lucan

Fort Lucan has been one of Ireland’s favourite party venues for 25 years! They can offer you a party room for an hour. This room is €30 and must be booked in advance by calling 01-6280166. You can order hot food on arrival and you are welcome to bring in your own drinks, snacks, cakes, etc.

However, branded food is prohibited in Fort Lucan. (eg McDonalds / Domino’s Pizza)

Most Parties order a party pizza and chips which is usually enough food for 8 children. (Depending on age, etc) €25 The staff will be happy to help you order.

Most people bring the children an hour before the party time, let them play for an hour, have the party and then let them back out to play for another hour.

Please bring any party accessories that you wish such as plates, cups, jugs for your diluted drinks, cups, tablecloths, candles & lighter, decorations etc as Fort Lucan do not provide them.

Fort Lucan School Tours and Groups

Fort Lucan has been one of Ireland’s most popular school tour and summer camp destinations They offer an action packed tour, that has something for everyone. Physical exercise and PE are becoming increasingly important and Fort Lucan has been designed to get kids back outside, running, jumping and climbing! It a place that encourages their imaginations to run free!

Fort Lucan Entry Prices

Child entry €12.50 and includes one free turn on either the Waterfall, the Raging River, or the Helter Skelter.

Adult entry €5 and includes one free tea or filter coffee from the Fort Lucan café.

Under 2’s are free!

Additional tickets prices

Raging River €4 per raft, each raft takes 2 children. Waterfall & Helter Skelter €1.50 per ride. Unlimited ride wristbands €9.50.

The wristbands allow the bearer unlimited turns on all the rides. Tickets and wristbands are only valid on the day of purchase.

Directions To Fort Lucan Adventure Land

From the M50

  • Take the M4 exit heading west,
  • On the M4, continue past the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre,
  • Take first exit for Lucan off the M4. (immediately after the Foxhunter pub)
  • Follow the exit off the M4 and turn right to go across the flyover and down to a T-Junction beside a Woodies DIY
  • At Woodies, turn left
  • Take the next turn Right
  • At the bottom of the hill there is a small roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout
  • This takes you over the Liffey Bridge.
  • Immediately the other side of the bridge, turn right.
  • Take next turn left (about 1KM down this road). This brings you up a sharp hill.
  • Fort Lucan is at the top of the hill on the left hand side

From Blanchardstown/Clonsilla

  • Drive straight through Clonsilla, over railway racks.
  • Follow road until it meets the big wall of Luttrellstown Castle.
  • Stay on the road with the wall on your left.
  • You will come to Fort Lucan after approx 4 KM

From N3

  • Into Clonee village
  • At Grasshopper pub, take the turn opposite (for Lucan)
  • Take first turn right
  • Go over 2 hump-back bridges. Turn left immediately after the second bridge.
  • Take next turn right at T-Junction
  • Fort Lucan is 300m on the right

From N7 (From south)

  • Go under the Citywest bridge and take the next exit.
  • At top of the exit ramp, turn left.
  • This is the Dublin Outer Ring Road (R136).
  • Heading for Lucan, follow the road through all roundabouts and traffic lights until you reach the end of the road at a T-Junction beside a Woodies DIY
  • At Woodies, turn left
  • Take the next turn Right
  • At the bottom of the hill there is a small roundabout. Turn right at the roundabout
  • This takes you over the Liffey Bridge.
  • Immediately the other side of the bridge, turn right.
  • Take next turn left (about 1KM down this road). This brings you up a sharp hill.
  • Fort Lucan is at the top of the hill on the left hand side
