BikeFest – Family Cycling Festival
Bikefest is part of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council’s events programme for National Bike Week
Cycle the Treasure Trail to the event on parts of the dlr Cycle network and be in with a chance to win €250 worth of vouchers from a bike shop! Four selected cycle friendly routes leading to Cabinteely Park will be included in the Treasure Trail. Each route will have a series of clues, which cyclists can solve to be in with a chance to win. We will announce the routes and Treasure Trail questions on Friday June 14th here on events.dlrcoco.ie. Each of the four routes will have its own winner with a total prize fund of €1,000.
When visitors arrive at Cabinteely Park, Bikefest will present a spectacular cycle themed festival event featuring Bike Tune Ups, Bling UR Bike decorations, Cycling Information, Food and Smoothies made by our pedal powered Smoothie maker. Strolling entertainment will come from “Cycle Circus” performers and Street Entertainers.
The centrepiece of Bikefest will be a unique cycle stunt show from Ben Savage’s Savage Skills. Savage Skills riders have set Guinness World Records and won World Championships with their unrivalled abilities on two wheels. They will present four shows, on the half hour of 20 minutes duration during the event. Between shows Savage Skills riders will teach visitors safe cycling skills on their custom BMX track.
Entry to the event is free but please remember there is limited parking in the area around Cabinteely Park so please cycle, walk or use public transport to get to the event.
Bikefest is organised by dlr Events and is an initiative by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has a huge variety of events planned for the year.
