St Patrick’s Festival Trim 2023
This year, the St Patrick’s Day parade in Trim will celebrate it’s Tidy Towns victory
The parade this year will honour the volunteers of Trim Tidy Towns and will be led off with members of the group with the trophies for the tidiest town in Ireland.
The parade commences at 3.30pm from the Ring Road and will go up Patrick Street, onto Emmet Street, Market Street and finishing at Castle Street. James Murray of Boyne Valley Activities has brought back the very popular ‘Daft Raft Race held just before the parade at 1.30pm.
That evening the Scurlogstown Olympiad Céili St Patrick’s night takes place in the Diocesan Hall, Loman Street, Trim.

This year”s St Patrick’s Festival Trim promises to have something for all the family and, in these difficult economic times, organisers are ensuring that many of the events are free or only have a minimum charge.
There will be lots of fun street activities throughout the week which starts with the selection and crowning of The Celtic Queen and culminates with one of the biggest St. Patrick’s Day Parades in the region. ‘Daft-Raft Race’ is held on the nearby River Boyne, where local organisations participate in fancy dress with handmade boats and race to the finishing line to raise money for local charities.
On St Patrick’s Day, the traditional pilgrimage to St. Patrick’s Well takes place at 11.30 with the Daft Raft Race at 1.30pm and the St Patrick’s Day Parade beginning at 3pm. On St. Patrick’s night there is a presentation to the winning floats and groups in the Bounty Bar at 8.00, followed by a traditional Irish céilí in the Diocesan Hall.
