Roll Up! Roll Up! A Celebration of Circus

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, roll up and discover the incredible feats, sights, sounds and smells of the circus! Let our circus characters guide you through four floors of interactive exhibits, bringing to life the awesome, curious and dramatic worlds of circus troupes. Then step right up and learn an amazing new circus skill or create a sensational piece of circus art.

Each week there will be a different circus skills session at the end of the tour – see timetable below. The skills sessions are most suitable for ages 4+, but there will be plenty to keep adults and younger children busy too!

Circus skills timetable:

Tuesdays – Sundays, 4 July – 31 August 2013 @ 10.30am*, 12pm, 1.30pm, 3pm & 4.30pm (*no 10.30am tour on Sundays)
Late opening Thursdays: last tour at 6pm

Duration 90 mins (approx 50mins tour & 40mins activity)

  • Week 1 (4-7 Jul): Create a circus mask and become a snarling tiger or curious clown.
  • Week 2 (9-14 Jul): Draw and design a life-size circus character in action.
  • Week 3 (16-21 Jul): Amaze your friends and learn how to juggle, walk on stilts & balance peacock feathers.
  • Week 4 (23-28 Jul): Have a go at plate spinning, diabolo & poi and come away with a real sense of achievement
  • Week 5 (30 Jul-4 Aug): Draw and design a life-size circus character in action.
  • Week 6 (6-11 Aug): Design your own clown face on an egg – just like real clowns do!
  • Week 7 (13-18 Aug): Design and make circus props like mini-stilts, juggling balls and twirling ribbons.
  • Week 8 (20-25 Aug): Make your own circus character puppet to join in the circus parade.
  • Week 9 (27-31 Aug): Create a circus character mask and become a snarling tiger or curious clown.

Tickets:

  • €9 (children aged 2+ and adults)
  • €30 for family of 4 (select tickets as normal, discount will be applied at checkout)

Thrifty Tuesdays Tickets: €7.50

Multi-visit discounts: Book a Saturday Workshop at the same time as Roll Up! Roll Up! and save 25% on the workshop ticket.

There is limited capacity on each tour, so advance booking is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment.
