Carrickmines Equestrian Centre

Carrickmines caters for all ages and levels from complete beginners up to competition level in showjumping, eventing, dressage and polocrosse. Private lessons may also be arranged by special appointment. Corporate groups are also catered for.

Experienced riders may try their skills over some of the numerous cross-country obstacles they encounter over the 80 acre property.

During the school holidays and mid term breaks pony camps are held here for children aged from 6 to 14. The children get a pony to look after for the week. They do stable management, which includes grooming, catching, feeding and tacking-up. Their riding activities include lessons, ride-outs, polocrosse and a showjumping competition at the end of the week. If anyone is considering buying a horse for their child it is a great idea to enroll the chlid in one of these types of camps first.

Polocrosse is the fastest growing equestrian sport in Ireland. Polocrosse is often described as ‘hurling on horseback’ and people of all ages can play. There are grades from beginner up to advanced level. If you like horses and team sport, polocrosse could be the right choice for you.
