Christmas Island – The Santa Experience

Join in the festive fun at Christmas Island for an unforgettable and unique Christmas experience for 2019

Experience the Magic of Christmas this year at Christmas Island at Hidden Valley in Wicklow with thousands of twinkling lights, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, the Elves, Rudolph,  The North Pole Express “Santa’s magical white train”, presents, activities, food and drink and much more!

Your experience will begin on The North Pole Express train! On arrival to Christmas Island you’ll enter Santa’s largest Igloo to: Meet the Elves, get Creative and make a Christmas decoration

Following the tunnel from Igloo 1 to Igloo 2 will bring you into the Elves dome where everyone will mingle with the Elves, dance around the Christmas tree, have fun with the floating bubbles and sing until your heart’s content

Next it’s time to see what those Mischievous Elves have been up to. Can you remember their names? They won’t be shy to fill you in on all the trouble they’ve been up to! Even though silly and mischievous, they are also compassionate and have a gift for the children

Now it’s time to meet Santa!

Make yourself at home in the cosy grotto while Santa’s helper takes families back to see Santa.

Visit with Santa and tell him what your family will be doing for Christmas this year. If the children have been good all year and are on their best behaviour, then on permission from the parents/guardians each child will receive a present to take home.

Christmas Island  will be sure to fill your family full of laughter, fun and excitement!

Family Fun Tip:

Most Santa venues charge for your family photo and you don’t get copies of this photo. At Christmas Island they ask you to bring your own camera and their elves will take your family photo on Santa’s sleigh, with Santa, at the giant Christmas tree, with Mrs. Claus and more. You will then have many photos to share with your family friends.

Directions to Christmas Island, Hidden Valley Holiday Park

  • From Dublin (1 hour)…

Follow the N11 South to the R772 for Rathnew and Wicklow. At the roundabout in Rathnew, follow signs towards R752 for Rathdrum (approx 12 minutes from Rathnew). There is a bad bend on arrival into Rathdrum. The entrance for Christmas Island is on your right after this bad bend. If you’ve passed Glanbia, then you’ve gone too far.

  • From Wexford (1 hr and 30 minutes)…

Follow the N11 North to the R752 for Rathnew and Rathdrum. Follow all the roundabouts for Rathdrum. At the t-intersection, turn left onto the R752. It will take you approximately 12 minutes from here to get to the park. There is a bad bend on arrival into Rathdrum. The entrance for Christmas Island is on your right after this bad bend. If you’ve passed Glanbia, then you’ve gone too far.

  • From Wexford, passing through Avoca (1 hr and 30 minutes)…

This is another option, but the roads are not as smooth and the signs are not well posted!
Take the N11 North to the Arklow South exit. This brings you into Arklow town. Turn left and follow the road down into town. When you get to the roundabout, go straight through it. This road turns into the R747. Take the R747 to the R752. You will pass the Woodenbridge Hotel, Avoca and then Meeting of the Waters. Keep going straight and you will come into Rathdrum. Follow the road down the hill. There will be a petrol station on your left. At the bottom of the hill cross over the bridge, passing Glanbia on your right, and the entrance for Christmas Island is your next left
