Gravitation 2015

Gravitation 2015 – get out your boards, bikes, blades and beats and join in the fun. Experience the power and skill of skateboarding and BMX displays. Marvel at the speed and agility of expert bladders and spin to hip hop beats.

Check out some of the city’s top skateboarders with their displays of  skills and exciting BMX displays at the Gravitation 2015. This unique Free event is fun for the kids and families to enjoy and  a top Dublin DJ will be MC for the day and will provide the background music.

Gravitation 2015, hosted by DLR Events,  will feature demonstrations by experts  at the  state of the art Skate Park at Leisure Services Monkstown. The skate park will be FREE to the public to test their skills and experts will be on hand to provide tips throughout the day.

The aim of the event is to embrace the wide selection of alternative sports and urban culture in Ireland and provide a platform to showcase boards, bikes, blades and beats at their best.

Directions:

1.City Centre / Blackrock…. come down Monkstown Road to the large church in the middle of the road, turn right at church, proceed 500 metres to roundabout, take last exit and centre is on left.

2. From N11… turn onto Newtownpark Avenue and drive to end of road. At lights turn right and proceed 1 mile to first set of lights. turn left at lights and proceed to roundabout, take first exit on left onto Monkstown Avenue and drive 500 metres . the centre is on the right hand side.

 dlr Leisure Services

dlr Leisure Services Monkstown caters for all age groups and features a 25m swimming pool, learner pool, sauna and changing facilities and a fully equipped gymnasium. A floodlit pitch facility is also based at the centre boasting four ‘7-a-side pitches’, three of which are suitable for soccer and one multi-surface pitch that is wheelchair friendly, and can also be used for basketball, tennis and hockey.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has a huge variety of events planned for the county in 2010 including Active 8 in March, the Mad Hatters Tea Party in April and the hugely popular Teddy Bears Picnic will be back in Blackrock Park in July.  You can also look forward to Outdoor Movies and the Endless Summer over the summer months.
