Family Activities

On the doorstep of the hotel is Baysports water sports centre, home to the largest inflatable water park in Ireland, where you can rent canoes, kayaks and peddle boats, learn to sail and join activity camps for children of all ages!

A short drive away, is the Lough Boora Parklands. A nature preserve with a unique and acclaimed sculpture park with lots of walking and cycling trails to be explored with bike rental facilities available!

Lough Key Forest Park, located on the shore of Lough Key hosts a range of scenic nature walks, as well as indoor and outdoor activities for the young and old. Zip lines, tree canopy walks, tunnels, adventure kingdom playground, “Boda Borg” puzzle maze, segway tours, electric bike hire and a scenic park and estate, all wait within.

Glendeer Pet Farm, an award winning 12 acre open farm, provides a safe and carefree environment for children of any age. Glendeer Farm is a fantastic day out for families and groups. Children are provided with a bag of food to feed the goats, sheep, emu, donkeys, cows, llama, alpaca and lots more animals. No matter what the weather conditions, there is always something to do with impressive indoor and outdoor facilities.

Hodson Bay Hotel – For the Children

Hodson Bay Hotel features the award winning Penguin Kids Activity Camp, which runs during all school breaks and public holidays. For children between the ages of 4 and 12, the camp is fully supervised with dedicated Kids Camp staff and facilities. Children are entertained with treasure hunts, painting and drawing classes, board games, table tennis tournaments and nightly movie screenings. In the summer months, Penguin Kids Activity Camp features outdoor activities such as archery and parachute games.

For the younger kids (0-4years), Hodson Bay Hotel features a Tiny Tots Playroom. The playroom is open to guests throughout their stay and is supervised from 6.30pm until 8.30pm during all school holidays.

For the older kids, a Teenager’s den is also available with a Nintendo Wii, board games, air hockey, pool table, couches and lounges.

For even further convenience to parents, a babysitter can be arranged with prior notice.
