Santa Dash in Galway is inviting families and friends to embrace their inner Santa and take part in the annual 5K and 10K fun run to help raise vital funds for the Galway Simon Community
They are encouraging families and friends to get dressed up in their Santa gear and join them at Claddagh Hall, South Park, Co. Galway. It is a great family day out and all for a good cause.
Mr Claus said: “It’s really important to me to be fit and healthy, especially with my busiest night of the year fast approaching. Last year’s Santa Dash was fantastic with over 800 boys and girls and their mammies, daddies and friends joining in. This year, it’s set to be even bigger and I’m really hoping to take the prize for the ‘fastest Santa’ – that would be magic!”
Santa Claus has kindly lent hundreds of his spare red suits to keep you warm as you run or walk the Santa Dashin Galway.
It really should be a sight to behold – hundreds of Santa’s running up and down the Promenade! The day itself is a great opportunity for families, friends and work colleagues to get together and have a lot of fun whilst also raising funds for a good cause.
Race Expo – Number and Santa Suit Collection:
All entrants can collect their Santa Suits and Goody bags at the Race Expo: TBC
Family Fun Tip – Santa Suits:
Suits are included in your entry fee and must be worn. Anyone finishing the race who is not in Santa costume will not be eligible for prizes or medals
Visit Santa at Santa Dash
The “Real” Santa will be in his igloo outside Claddagh Hall for all the children to visit. Any Children who officially entered and ran the race can visit him and get a free Christmas Present. Children who were only spectating can also visit him for €5 fee and get a present as well.
Santa Dash Galway Event Information
Venue:- Claddagh Hall, South Park, Co. Galway
The run will then go along Grattan Road, turn on to the Promenade until you reach the aid station where runners will turn and continue back to Claddagh Hall

Dates:- Sunday, December 11th
Time:- Race Start at 12pm
Santa Suits:-
- Both Children and Adult size costumes available.
- Note: Santa Suits are included in your entry.
- Childrens 5k – €20
- Adult 5k – €25
- Adult 10k – €25
Online entry will close when they have hit the maximum number, but you can still register at Claddagh Hall on the morning of the race from 10am to 11.45am. Race starts at 12pm sharp.
