Schull and Fitbones is located in Castlepoint, Schull, Co. Cork and is run by Déirdre Ní Challanáin who is a fully qualified personal trainer and fitness instructor for both adults and kids. She is a national orienteering adventure sport tutor and loves introducing and encouraging children to partake in the wonderful outdoors of Castlepoint, Cork through Schull and Fitbones activities. Adventures vary from a few hours to a few days.

Schull and Fitbones family activities and adventure courses for children age 6-16. Activities range from hiking, cycling, orienteering, maps and compasses, to boxing, basketball, treasure hunts and outdoor quests.

Schull and Fitbones run activities at various times during the week all throughout the year and runs summer camps for June, July and August. They not only keep the kids entertained for the summer months but get them healthy and active too in a fun and exciting manner.

Schull And Fitbones Summer Camps

This unique Schull & Fitbones summer camps give children the opportunity to try out different activities in a range of environments in which to have fun: from hills, mountains, woodlands and trails, to islands, coastline, castles and old mining tunnels.

Schull & Fitbones offer unique outdoor adventure summer camps that bring children  to hidden parts of West Cork, around Schull and Ballydehob on the Mizen peninsula – exploring tunnels on a mountainside with a torch; a short ferry ride to a hidden island cove for a BBQ and dipping ones feet in the Atlantic waters; flying kites by an ancient castle; finding the elusive checkpoint in the jungle marsh; then washing off the mud in a stream before Mum or Dad see it!; a sweet hunt in an old apple orchard; rope walk overlooking the valley and Schull harbour; orienteering across an old viaduct and trying to balance on the slackline!

The camps run from July to mid August, Monday to Friday, 9.30 – 14.00 in Schull and Ballydehob

Summer Camp Rates

  • The cost for five days is €120 per child. (€110 for siblings).
  • It costs €30 for single days.

Schull and Fitbones School Tours

School Tours in West Cork

Schull & Fitbones have teamed up with the beautiful Liss Ard Estate in Skibbereen, West Cork, to offer exciting outdoor adventure school tours for all ages within the various gardens of Liss Ard.

They have a low ropes adventure course that takes place under the canopy of the Woodland Garden. Expect to find yourselves walking blindfolded, balancing on the slackline, negotiating the rope walk, trying to become unstick in the spider’s web, or taking on the challenge of the Wild Whoozy.

All activities are adaptable to the different age groups.

For younger children (and the not so young), they have the animal string course winding its way through the Wildflower Meadow, whilst older children can navigate their way around the orienteering course in the Arboretum.

When tired at the end of the day they can have a go at some pond dipping.

Schull is about 100km from Cork City. To get threr you take the N71 West Cork road from the city to the village of Ballydehob. Then follow through on the R592 for 8km to Schull
