How To Make Paper Lanterns

Making paper lanterns is a fun, creative way to spend family time together.

All You Need

• Chart paper
• Scissors
• Adhesive
• Copouring Paints

Step 1:- Take the chartpaper and cut it into a rectangular piece (12 inches x 6 inches).
 

Step 2:-Fold a piece of paper lengthwise and make a sharp crease.

Step 3:- With the help of a scissor make slits all along the length from the folded side.Make as many cuts as you like, but be sure to make them evenly.If you wish to add designs to the lantern, do so now. Consider gluing strips of ribbon down each cut-out, or paint a picture on the paper to add a different look.

Step 4:- Stick the opposite widths of the paper.

Step 5:- Cut a strip (1 inch x 8 inch) from the remaining chart paper. Stick the two ends of the strip to the cylindrical lantren to make the handle. Colour or decorate it the way you like.

Step 6:-Measure the diameter of your lantern and cut out a matching piece of thin cardboard. Be sure to include small tabs that you can glue to the lantern.
 

• Avoid leaving a paper lantern unattended.
• Never use candles
• Always wash glue off your hands
